VIC Employee Numbers

The Melbourne Piper Alderman office has approxiametly 60 employees in total.

Seasonal Clerkships

Piper Alderman offers a unique Clerkship Program that aims to challenge and develop penultimate and ultimate year students. Our Law Clerk program allows you to work for up to a one year period with our firm on a casual basis working up to 3 days per week - depending on course load requirements.

We aim to provide an environment that encourages our law clerks to extend knowledge and application of University learnt legal concepts. We carefully plan and design your Clerkship to ensure that you gain experience in a range of practice groups and on real client matters. Your clerkship will allow you to gain not only exposure to an area of law you identify as an interest area but allow you to rotate through our other practices to provide a well-rounded experience.

During your clerkship you will be under the supervision of a partner and have the ongoing assistance of senior associates and lawyers who can provide ongoing support whilst you adjust to firm life.

Articles of Clerkship

Due to the nature of our law clerk program and graduate intake we are generally unable to participate in offering placement to students completing their GDLP requirements. If we have these opportunities we advertise them through cvmail.com.

Graduate Program

Piper Alderman offers a comprehensive graduate program that aims to further develop not only your legal skills but develop other professional skills that are critical to the success of your career including business development skills and client communication skills.

As a Graduate you will be exposed to and be involved in real legal work for our clients. You can expect to work closely not only with your supervising Partner but also your clients as part of your professional development.
